Trick or Treat 2012

It was actually kind of a treat for me to not have to create highly unique costumes this year! In keeping with their birthday themes, Kimberly was Tinkerbell and Rebekah was Cinderella. And they had their pumpkins carved to match. Happy Halloween!!

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to get our pumpkins on a drizzly Pacific Northwest day. We also got to go on a hayride around the farm and got some kettle corn. Yum! Pictures of our pumpkins will come later...
Ready for their tractor-pulled hay ride!

First Day of Kindergarten

The girls were READY for school to start this morning. They are in separate, but adjacent classrooms. Rebekah charged into her room and Kimberly wanted her "hug and a smooch" from Mom & Dad before following the other kids and teacher into her classroom.

Birthday Cakes

We've got a tradition going where each girl gets to pick what cake she wants and the other bakes it for her. Then they get to decorate their own cake and everyone's happy. This year Kimberly wanted a chocolate Tinkerbell cake, so we went with a chocolate cake with green buttercream frosting (and pink frosting between layers). Rebekah wanted a pink Cinderella cake, so we made a strawberry cake with pink buttercream frosting. Yum!

Riding the new bikes

They rode around in front of the house for a while to get the hang of their new bikes. Then they got to ride over to their Grandma's house for their party with a BBQ dinner and cake!

They had a table they made just for the 6-year-olds, so it only needed to seat three! The other 14 of us were left to fend for ourselves. :)

Birthday Bikes!

In honor of turning 6 today, the girls got new birthday bikes! They also got to pick a birthday balloon. Rebekah wanted Cinderella to match her pink princess cake and Kimberly decided she wanted a USA balloon that doesn't match her Tinkerbell cake at all. :)

Kimberly's First Tooth Loss

Bekah's up to three teeth lost and Kimberly just lost her first one tonight. She's excited! It's already under her pillow.

Tinkering with a Clock Radio

We got a old clock radio, gave the girls screwdrivers, and set them to work trying to see what they could find. (They did the same thing with our old deadbolt earlier this year). Fun!

Grassy Field

The girls were playing on a grassy field and Kimberly posed herself - how could I not take a picture? Bekah didn't want to get all grassy and itchy, so she preferred to stand.

Toothless Lion!

Rebekah lost her first tooth this afternoon and today was circus day at preschool, so I have a toothless lion! And also a happy clown.

Dentist visit!

Rebekah did great at her dentist appointment this morning showing off her super "wiggly waggly" loose teeth. Kimberly took a bit more convincing, but we got there.

Anniversary Backpacking

We took just Kimberly & Rebekah with us to do some hiking and camping for our 10-year anniversary.
Ready to go at the trailhead.
Our hiking brigade
At a fork in the trail, they couldn't agree on which way to go, so we hiked a little of each path.
There was still some snow on the upper elevations of the trails.
Lots of log bridges to cross as we hiked back and forth along the Greenwater River.
Marty and Bekah hiking along the left side of the river - they look so small!!
