Summer: Day 1
We started the first day of the girls' summer break by going out to breakfast at Lil Jon. They LOVE the French toast there!
We've also been attempting to make plans for the summer days and went to our local farmer's market. We got strawberries, raspberries, Rainier cherries, pears, cauliflower, Walla Walla sweet onion, and ordered an eighth of a Yakima-raised, grass-fed, 2-year-old cow that we'll get in September. Phew!!
The girls have ten new books from the library to read - including Magic Schoolbus ones. They really love those books and TV episodes on Netflix.
Next is some meal planning! Or maybe that's just me - we'll see.

Spring Football at UW
The Husky in front of the HUB.
At the Spring football fun:
Trying to throw the football in the hole.
Running a 40-yard dash with the players (they did it like 5 times).
Then into Husky Stadium to get ready to watch practice.
Another husky statue down at the stadium.
The columns in the Sylvan Theater.
Drumheller Fountain
The largest book in the world (on Bhutan) in the Suzzallo library.
The Suzzallo study room
The outside of the Suzzallo library
With George Washington
Paccar Hall (where this momma's MBA program is)

Trick or Treat 2012
It was actually kind of a treat for me to not have to create highly unique costumes this year! In keeping with their birthday themes, Kimberly was Tinkerbell and Rebekah was Cinderella. And they had their pumpkins carved to match. Happy Halloween!!

First Day of Kindergarten
The girls were READY for school to start this morning. They are in separate, but adjacent classrooms. Rebekah charged into her room and Kimberly wanted her "hug and a smooch" from Mom & Dad before following the other kids and teacher into her classroom.

Birthday Cakes
We've got a tradition going where each girl gets to pick what cake she wants and the other bakes it for her. Then they get to decorate their own cake and everyone's happy. This year Kimberly wanted a chocolate Tinkerbell cake, so we went with a chocolate cake with green buttercream frosting (and pink frosting between layers). Rebekah wanted a pink Cinderella cake, so we made a strawberry cake with pink buttercream frosting. Yum!
